Famous Folk Singer To Join YS Sharmila

If all goes well, prominent folk singer and Telangana activist Epuri Somanna will join the party that YS Sharmila is set to float in Telangana. He will be the first big name to join the party. Somanna will join the party along with 500 artistes , singers and dancers at the Lotus Pond residence.
Somanna is a popular name in the Telangana folk genre. He has for the last 16 years been in the TRS and has worked hard for the separate state of Telangana. However, after the separate state was achieved, he has been cold-shouldered by the TRS leadership . He then supported the Congress Party in Telangana. But this proved to be a disastrous decision as the Congress could not put up a fight against the TRS. It lost both 2014 and 2018 elections. Since then, Somanna has been in hibernation.
Somanna feels that YSR was the only politician who has done something substantial for Telangana in the field of irrigation and welfare. His Arogya Sri and 108 schemes were truly pro-poor initiatives, Somanna feels and says that he would work to fulfil Rajanna Rajyam in the right earnest.
