The Covid has had a big impact on almost all the sports events across the world since 2020. While a few events were postponed, a few others were suspended. Coming to cricket, the majority of the matches were held without attendance from the audience. The IPL played in 2020 was also conducted without allowing the audience to stadiums.

The first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 that was suspended midway was also played without an audience. Despite the excitement and entertainment provided by the tournament, the fabs are missing the feel of watching the matches live in stadiums and supporting their favorite team.

As a piece of good news to such fans, the Indian Premier League governing committee had announced that fans will be allowed to watch the matches in stadiums for the remainder of the IPL season. However, only a limited audience would be allowed at stadiums and they have to follow the Covid protocols at the stadium.

Days ahead of the IPL remainder to resume, the organisers have issued a statement saying that fans can watch the matches at the stadiums. They said, the booking for the tickets will start from the 16th of this month and the tickets will be made available on the official website.

The inaugural match of the remainder of the tournament will see two of the successful franchises Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. The Dubai Cricket Stadium will host the high-octane match on the 19th of this month.CSK and MI have lifted the trophies three and five times respectively. Mumbai Indians under the leadership of Rohit Sharma had won the 2020 IPL Trophy.

"The VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 resumes with the five-time champions and current title holders Mumbai Indians taking on three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 19. This match will be a momentous occasion as IPL will welcome the fans back to the stadiums after a brief hiatus owing to the Covid-19 situation.” the organisers said in a press release that was released on Wednesday.

The official Twitter handle of IPL had also tweeted the same saying that fans will be allowed at the stadiums. "NEWS - VIVO IPL 2021 set to welcome fans back to the stadiums," the tweet reads.
