Farmers upset with TRS forcibly taking their lands for Vijaya Garjana
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Nov 2021 4:59 PM ISTThe ruling TRS is facing rough weather on the issue of holding its Vijaya Garjana rally in Warangal on November 29. The farmers, on whose lands the rally would be held, are not ready to give their lands. They say that the surveys for preparing for the farmland as the ground for the meeting have begun without even informing them. They have registered their protests over this issue.
The Vijaya Garjana would be held on November 29 in Devanna Peta village of Hasanparthy mandal in Hanamkonda district. On Saturday, MLC Pala Rajeshwara Reddy and Vardhana Pet MLA Aruri Ramesh went to the land and tried to perform Bhumi Puja. The locals have gathered near the toll plaza and raised slogans against the ruling party leaders. Local corporator's husband Raju Naik entered into heated argument with the locals. Meanwhile CI Sridhar Rao has threatened to file cases against the farmers if they did not relent.
On seeing the protest, the MLC and the MLA did not go ahead with the Puja. Meanwhile, DCCB director Rajeshwara Reddy, local corporator's husband Raju Naik and former corporator Jakkula venkateshwarlu have formally launched the puja at another part at about 7 PM on Saturday.
Both the MLA and the MLC have met the farmers late in the night and held discussions with the farmers. He told the farmers that their lands would not be damaged and every care would be taken to protect the standing crops. The farmers are still not convinced, according to the sources.
