Favourite officer turns a headache for YS Jagan
By: Tupaki Desk | 6 May 2022 5:48 AM GMTJagan's latest headache is the man whom he trusted. YS Jagan appointed Dalit activist Victor Prasad as the chairperson of the state SC commission. He was the personal choice of YS Jagan, who took an instant liking for Prasad's work as an NGO activist. But, now it turns out that Victor Prasad is too pro-Dalit and this is affecting the ruling party itself.
Victor Prasad is said to be taking a serious view of the attacks on Dalits and is ordering filing of cases against even YSRCP leaders, if they were found involved. He has asked the police to take action against the culprits regardless of their political affiliations. He has openly slammed the police wherever they were found to be lax.
The biggest problem is that most of those involved in attacks on Dalits are from the ruling YSRCP. But, victor is not showing any mercy on them. Instead, he is taking the cops who are lenient towards YSRCP leaders.Victor Prasad is insisting that the police file cases and initiate action against the leaders, even if they are from the ruling party.
Now, many YSRCP leaders are unhappy at this. They have already taken the issue to the party's top leadership. In fact, several dalit leaders from the YSRCP had objected to the appointment of Victor Prasad to the post of the chairperson of the SC commission. But, Jagan did not pay any heed to their objections. Now, these leaders are sporting a "We told you so" look on their face as Victor Prasad's actions are proving to be a big headache for YS Jagan.
