Film Producer Ravichand conducted Jala Deeksha at Punnami Ghat in Vijayawada demanding Tollywood Heroes to join the movement seeking Special Category Status.

Ravichand: 'Film Industry has been getting Rs 1,000 crore revenue per year. Why don't TFI Heroes break their silence on the injustice happening to the Andhrites? They need to learn from Tamil Heroes who were always ready to fight for people's well-being. All the Tollywood Heroes need to come under the same platform for Special Status'.

The Producer displayed the placards which consists of names of Tollywood Heroes such as Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu, NTR, Ram Charan, Prabhas, Allu Arjun. He questioned, 'Aren't you (Heroes) amassing crores of wealth using the money of Andhrites? Even Star Producers and Directors like D Suresh Babu, Rajamouli, Srinu Vytla, Puri Jagannath has to extend support to Special Status. Film Personalities needn't conduct deeksha in Vijayawada alone. MAA, Film Chamber and Other Film Bodies should fix a date and stage protest at anyplace in the Telugu States'.

Ravichand accused Political Parties of moving ahead with their own agenda instead of fighting collectively. 'While all parties joined hands during Telangana Movement, Here the situation is quite different. As film industry can't be attributed to one particular party, There will be every possibility of nationwide coverage. Even Centre will have to reconsider it's decision in such a situation,' he opined.
