Finally, Congress PR Machinery Gets Into Groove
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 April 2020 10:56 AM ISTFinally, at long last, the Congress Party is finding its mojo back. It has now got over the lockdown shock and is now slowly, but surely getting its act together. It has now succeeded in activating its workers and leaders. Even Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are looking active now.
Fortunately for the Congress, most of the Congress-ruled states are doing well in terms of Corona control. States like Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Punjab are doing better than some of the BJP-ruled states. Congress chief ministers Amarinder Singh, Bhupendra Baghel and Ashok Gehlot are getting lot of mileage through their video conferences and tele conferences. The Congress PR machinery too is quite active these days. In states like Maharashtra, where the Congress shares power, its former CMs have already hit the roads. For instance, Prithviraj Chowhan, the former CM, is going from village to village campaigning about the need for social distancing. Another CM, Ashok Chawan , too is quite active.
But, the Congress is still finding the going tough because of Sonia Gandhi's earlier statement that the Government should stop giving advertisements to the media houses and divert the saved money for Corona control. This one statement has succeeded in alienating the media, especially the print media, away from the Congress.
