The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Polls which went through several twists and turns over the past few months has reached the climax stage today. The polls for the first phase of Local Body polls were held today.

According to the information, the elections were held for 2,723 Gram Panchayats in the first phase. The elections received a massive response from the voters with 81.09 percent of voting percentage.

Krishna district registered the highest voting percentage with 85.06 percent, while Prakasham district registered the least voting percentage in the Local body elections with 75.41 percent.

Looking at the unanimous polls, ruling YSRCP has won the lion share of Panchayats as unanimous. Out of the 3,249 Panchayats, YSRCP has won 500 Panchayats unanimously, out of 525 Panchayats.

On the other hand, the opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP), and other parties like BJP-Janasena and Congress have failed to at least create an impact in the Panchayat elections, reports claimed.
