The Spanish health authority has said that they had confirmed a rare case of sexually-transmitted dengue.

Going into the story, a 41-year-old man was admitted to a hospital with dengue symptoms. Reportedly, he acquired it from his male partner, who went to Cuba recently and showed some mild symptoms of dengue 10 days ago. After finding the same Cuban strain of dengue virus in the sperm of both of them, the hospital authorities have declared that its a sexual transmission.

The Dengue disease is normally spread by the bite of the female anopheles mosquito. Mostly the tropical and subtropical areas are vulnerable for this disease, though the disease is prevalent in 128 countries.

According to the official information, India has witnessed almost 67,000 dengue cases until October 2019. Out of which 1,000 were registered in Delhi alone. Unfortunately, there is no cure for dengue and the management of symptoms is only available till now. With the new mode of transmission emerging, a new concern has entered the list.
