TS Government Stops Financial Assistance To Flood-Affected Families!

The Telangana government led by Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao came forward to help the people who were affected by floods in Hyderabad which hit the capital very hard.
Days after launching the scheme, the Telangana State Election Commission asked the state government to stop the flood relief of Rs 10,000. The Commission asked the government to not continue the scheme for a specific time.
As per the Election rules, the model code of conduct will come into force four weeks before the election schedule. The GHMC elections are slated to get commence on the 1st of December which is less than three weeks.
Citing the same reason, the state election commission asked the government to halt the flood relief scheme till the civic body polls get commenced. The rule will not apply after the polls.
According to the election schedule, the nominations for the elections will be accepted on the 18,19, and 20 of November. The final list of candidates will be announced on November 22.
The civic body polls will be held on the 1st of December from 7 AM to 6 PM. The election results will be announced on the fourth of December.
