Flying War Planes Easier Than Playing Politics

Politics or piloting a flight in times of war â Which is more difficult? No one can answer this question better than Uttam Kumar Reddy. He flew war planes and also skippered the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. If you ask him, pat comes the reply. Flying planes is a lot easier, but running a party is very difficult, he says.
Uttam who completed five years as party chief, became candid on Wednesday. He said while the Army is disciplined, the political party is anything but discipline. There are different voices within a party and the leader has to listen to everyone. He said the leader has to take everyone along. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress was passing through tough times across the country and that even in Telangana, it is facing serious setbacks. He said that the party has faced defeats in recent times because of these tough times and new challenges. On Corona, he said the Congress has serious doubts over the Corona statistics doled out by the Telangana Government. He said that the Telangana government was not conducting sufficient amounts of tests to identify Corona cases and the current statistics which show low Corona positive cases are deceptive.
Uttam Kumar Reddy has completed five years as TPCC chief. In view of the lockdown, the Congress high command has given him another extension for few more months.
