Flyover collapsed in Vijaywada

A flyover which is still under construction has collapsed near Vijayawada. It is said to be a connecting flyover between Gollapudi and Ramavarappadu junction. Four out the eight beams placed on the two pillars have broken resulting in a collapse. The gap between the two pillars is 80 feet.
No casualties have been reported as the incident happened at around 9 pm on Monday. Locals were shaken as they initially felt it might be an earth quake due to vibrations after the collapse.
Officials say, Collapse is only due to the usage of inferior quality material. The concerned officials of the construction company didn't turn up to the spot even at 11.30 pm.
