The heavy downpour in the past three days has submerged not just the low-lying areas in Hyderabad. What you see in the photograph shown above is the present situation at Punjagutta flyover! This situation has arised due to the heavy rain on Thursday night. Commuters travelling in this route have been facing severe discomfort.

As per the prediction of MET Department, Heavy Rains were expected in Hyderabad for the next two days. State Government has shut down Educational Institutions on Friday and Saturday.

Municipal Minister KTR, Ministers, GHMC Officials and Police Department have been taking care of rehabilitation and restoration works. People living in dilapidated houses were evacuated and shifted to safe places. Apart from Police Department, Rapid Action Force, Army and Disaster Management Troops were taking part in the rescue operations.

The flood water in Hussain Sagar is flowing beyond the maximum limit. Visitors weren't allowed into Lumbini Park due to the water logging. Even NTR Gardens and Sajeevaiah Park will remain closed for two days.
