Following Saha-Journalist Row, BCCI to bring new Rules!
By: Tupaki Desk | 22 Feb 2022 12:44 PM GMTSenior Indian wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha who was not picked for the upcoming Sri Lanka had surprised everyone by saying that he was advised by former Indian captain and current head coach of Indian National team Rahul Dravid to think about bidding goodbye to the game.
He also made an explosive tweet claiming that he was contacted by a journalist asking for an interview. In the tweet, he had shared a screenshot of messages he received from a journalist. The tweet had made many heads turn and the former cricketers have supported him in the issue.
With the alleged harassment row creating an uproar, it has been widely reported that the BCCI, which oversees the function of cricket in India is in plans to make new rules that stop the journalists from directly approaching the players for interviews.
It is said that the alleged decision has been taken to see that no issues like the Saha row erupt in the future. The planning for the same has been started and the guidelines on how the players should be approached might be announced soon.
If we have to take anything from the media reports, if the new guidelines become effective, then the players who have contracts with the BCCI cannot be contacted directly and they should be approached through the BCCI officials.
