Gone are the days where certain jobs were only restricted to men. As a token of Nari Shakti, women are getting into every sector and every job proving themselves. In what could be a shot in the arm to this, women commandos were allotted the responsibility to take care of the security of big dignitaries in the political arena.

For the first time in the history of the country, the Central Reserve Police Force had decided to deploy the women commandos for security purposes. The protectees will now be protected by the women commandos, who underwent the required training recently.

Besides the men commandos, the women commandos will be handed over the responsibility of protecting dignitaries like Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the members of the Gandhi family, and Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister, and Finance Minister. All these dignitaries currently enjoy the Z plus category protection.

As per the media reports, as many as 32 female commandos underwent vigorous training that makes them eligible to take care of the security of the dignitaries. As a pilot project, the women commandos will take up the new responsibility on the 15th of next month. It is also said that a batch of five to six commandos will be allotted a dignitary.

The first batch of women commandos who are all set to script history by getting included in the security cover of the political dignitaries are likely to be exercising their duties at the residences of the prescribed dignitaries. As the parties are vigorously campaigning for the forthcoming general elections in the poll-bound states, the women commandos might accompany them.

More batches of women commandos would be allotted the security responsibilities based on the performance of the new batch of women commandos. If they get a good response for their duties, then more and more women commandos would be given more chances.

With this, India will get into the list of countries across the world that have women commandos taking care of the security of designated dignitaries and politicians. This would encourage more women to take up the security forces as an opportunity.
