Former Pak Player supports Ganguly on sacking Kohli
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Dec 2021 12:18 PM GMTThe BCCI and the selectors are under fire for sacking Virat Kohli as the skipper for the ODI format and making hitman Rohit Sharma the captain for both the white-ball formats, ODI and T20. Virat fans are blasting BCCI on social media over the decision. Fans are not happy with the way Kohli was sacked as the skipper.
In the middle of this, former Indian keeper Kamran Akmal supported BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly in the issue and said, Virat Kohli is a good captain, but expressed his confidence that Rohit Sharma will take Indian cricket further.
On his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal showered praises on Virat Kohli for his ability as a player and mentioned the 70 centuries record held by him. The former Pakistan player opined that Virat Kohli would have given his ODI captaincy for Rohit Sharma voluntarily. Under Rohit’s captaincy, India would dominate the world, he said.
Giving more stats, Kamran Akmal had mentioned that Virat Kohli could not make his team win any ICC trophy after he took over the captaincy from Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Maybe Sourav Ganguly and the selectors were right in the decision, he opined.
On the other hand, Sourav Ganguly had responded to the decision and said, Rohit Sharma was made the skipper as it is not good to have two captains for two different white-ball formats.
