Tamil Nadu To Follow 12-Day Strict Lockout In Four Districts
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 Jun 2020 12:50 PM GMTIn the wake of the rapid growth of the positive cases of the pandemic, the Tamil Nadu government headed by chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami announced fierce restricted lockout from the 19th of June to 30th in four districts of Tamil Nadu.
The intense lockout includes a complete shutdown on two Sundays. The four districts announced by the government included Chennai too.
Edappadi K Palaniswami said that the 12-day fierce lockout will be strictly followed in four districts Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, and Tiruvallur. These districts fall under the Metropolitan Chennai Police limit.
The announcement of the lockout came after the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Palaniswami opted to do so as the cases in the state reached an alarming level. Tamil Nadu has 44,661 cases of the contagious disease.
The government also gave some relaxations to the shops that sell essential items which will be opened from morning 6 to afternoon 2 so that the public will not face any issues.
