Deadly Nipah virus mystery solved. Indian Council of Medical Research(IMCR) has found out the cause of deadly Nipah virus which has taken the lives of 17 people in Kerala. The research into the incident found out that the Nipah virus transmitted to the humans after they have consumed the fruits that were eaten by bats. Kozhikode, Mallapuram districts in Kerala registered Nipah virus deaths.

IMCR officials have visited the Changaroth village in Perambra in Kozhikode. They have caught the bats in the village and teste them. They found out that the bats were carrying Nipah virus. As the people in the area consumed the fruits that were eaten by the bats with Nipah virus, they were infected with the virus. Union minister for Health JP Nadda revealed this information.

It has been two months since Nipah virus broke out. He has revealed it took a long time to identify the virus because it is a new virus and the equipment is not available with them to find out the virus. The researchers initially caught 21 bats and declared that they are not carrying Nipah virus. But they have found out the virus in the second batch of 55 bats. The government has recently announced that there is no Nipah virus in Kozhikode, Mallapuram districts. It has revealed that no single Nipah virus case detected after June 1.
