Stop Petrol & Diesel Vehicles, Switch to Electric!

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari opined electric cars, buses, taxis and bikes are the future and India should move forward in that direction.
Nitin Gadkari have a clear message for Automobile Industry. At the SIAM Annual Convention, The Union Minister made it clear Centre have a crystal-clear policy to curb pollution and reduce imports. He advised the Automobile Companies to prefer alternative fuel instead of relying on petrol or diesel whether they like it or not, or else asked them to get bulldozed. He didn't mind warning those Companies only concerned about money to face trouble, whereas the ones who will cooperate with Government will have an advantage.
Centre is currently working on a Cabinet Note to establish Charging Stations. A Policy on the Electric Vehicles will be introduced soon.
The Union Minister recalled Carmakers told him that batteries of electric vehicles are costly when he asked them to move in that direction in the past. Today, The batteries are costing 40 percent less. Gadkari believes the price would reduce further in mass production and hence he feels Carmakers can't make any excuses.
India's Import Bill of Rs 7 lakh crore per year is a huge burden on the economy. Pollution is other major problem. Alternative Fuel like Ethanol or Electric Vehicles will be more effective.
