In his autobiography 'Game Changer', Former Pakistan Cricketer Shahid Afridi wrote Gautam Gambhir have neither records nor personality but lot of attitude. 'Oh poor Gautam. He and his attitude problem. He is barely a character in the great scheme of cricket. No great records just a lot of attitude. In Karachi we call guys like him saryal (burnt up),' he opined.

Reacting on the 'attitude problem' comment, Gambhir certified Afridi as a hilarious man. And then, He offered to personally take the former Pakistani Cricketer to a psychiatrist citing India has been granting visas to Pakistanis for medical tourism.

Gambhir and Afridi had on-field spat during the India Vs Pakistan Match in Kanpur in the year 2007. They don't see eye-to-eye ever since then.

Former Mental Conditioning Coach Paddy Upton had mentioned in his book 'The Barefoot Coach' that Gambhir was mentally the insecure and pessimistic but that didn't stop him from becoming one of the most successful cricketers of his generation.
