Gannavaram TDP Cadre Is Rudderless
By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Aug 2020 7:49 AM GMTGannavaram TDP is rudderless. It has no constituency level incharge to take the party forward. Even as the bypoll for Gannavaram constituency is approaching, the TDP is yet to decide on the constituency incharge. As a result, the cadre is in confusion and do not know who to look up to.
Gannavaram was one of the very few constituencies that returned a TDP candidate in the 2019 elections. Vallabhaneni Vamsi managed to scrape through despite a YSRCP tsunami. However, Vamsi veered towards the YSRCP and resigned as an MLA. He will now contest as a YSRCP nominee and reenter the assembly. The YSRCP is working hard to ensure his facile victory.
On the other hand, what about the TDP? The party has some loyal cadre but no leader. It has no constituency incharge. As a result, the cadre have become direction less. Some have even approached the TDP top leadership to appoint a constituency incharge so that the party can prepare for the bypoll.
Some TDP leaders like Bachula Arjunudu have shown interest in taking up the responsibility, but the top leadership has not yet taken a decision on it. With the delay in the whole process of appointment of the incharges to various constituencies, the party workers are getting disheartened and disappointed. With Gannavaram elections approaching, the party cadre feel that the leadership should take a decision immediately.
