By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Oct 2017 5:33 PM GMTPakistan defeated India in the final of Champions Trophy 2017 by a margin of 180 runs. Men-in-Blue led by Virat Kohli were clear favorites to lift the trophy, considering the good form the Team has been in all the formats. But, It's Pakistan Cricketers who had the last laugh.
Talat Ali who was Pakistan Team Manager at the time of Champions Trophy reveals remarks made by Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri ignited the fire in the cricketers. 'Ahead of the final match, Neither Gavaskar nor Shastri gave us any chance to win the final. Pakistan Team was written off even before a ball was bowled and it's been called a no-contest at all. The boys were fired up. We decided let the bat and ball do the talking,' he said.
Batting First, Pakistan posted a massive score of 330-plus at the loss of 4 wickets. India could manage just over 150 in the chase. With this victory, Pakistan broke the jinx that it doesn't perform against India in the ICC events.
