GHMC slaps Karachi Bakery with 10k fine for unhygienic food!

Eateries not serving quality food to customers is a big concern and we have heard stories about the practice many times. Not just small eateries, even some of the famous and iconic eateries are also indulging in such practice making customers think twice before eating outside.
In one such case, a customer had complained about a popular eatery not serving quality food. Looking into the matter, the concerned authorities have slapped the eatery with a fine of Rs 10,000 on the grounds of serving unhygienic food.
Going into details, a customer had brought a packet of packaged sweets from the famous Karachi Bakery in Hyderabad. To his shock, he had found fungus in the sweets he had bought. The customer decided not to let go and moved the civic authorities.
The customer had approached the civic body of Hyderabad, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on the issue through social media. Sharing the pictures of sweets with fungus, the customer tweeted urging others to have an eye while consuming sweets.
He had tagged the official handle of GHMC in his tweet and urged the authorities to take appropriate action against the eatery. Reacting to the tweet, the GHMC officials had swung into action and probed the issue.
"Karachi Bakery Hyderabad packaged sweets have fungus growing on them, please consume them cautiously. please Retweet. Dear @MinisterKTR @arvindkumar_ias @TSMAUDOnline @GadwalvijayaTRS @GHMCOnline @CommissionrGHMC @ZC_SLP please take action," the customer tweeted against Karachi bakery.
The health and food contamination department of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had reached the Khajaguda branch of Karachi bakery and raised the establishment. Holding the branch responsible for not serving quality food, the authorities slapped it with a fine of Rs 10,000.
It is also said that the Khajaguda branch was also found violating other rules like COVID-19 protocol, non-segregation of waste, use of plastics, and lack of a silt chamber. Taking all these factors into consideration, the authorities have imposed a fine of Rs 10k against the establishment.
This is not the first time Karachi bakery was in the news for the wrong reason. Earlier, the GHMC had raised a branch of the bakery after receiving complaints of having worms in the sweets.
