Note Ban: Hyd emerges as No.1 in the Country!
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Nov 2016 6:43 AM GMTTRS Government and Telanganites made good use of the scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Hence, Hyderabad stood as No.1 in the Tax collection all over the country.
For the month of November 2016, Tax collection of GHMC increased by 2,500 percent. By Tuesday, Rs 1,722 crore have been received in the form of taxes. The revenue was just Rs 489 crore in November last year. KCR permitted people to use old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes for paying this year and next year's taxes. This move really benefitted the TRS Government and helped it overcome the sharp fall in revenue due to note ban for some extent.
Delhi Municipal Corporation is at second spot with increase in revenue by 2,434 percent. Whereas, Surat Municipal Corporation in Gujarat occupies third position with a raise of 2,314 percent. South Delhi Municipal Corporation and Rajkot Municipal Corporation records 2,037 percent and 1,275 percent revenue increase respectively.
