God Has Died, Let's Gobble His 'House'
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 Feb 2021 3:01 AM GMTGod has died and God's properties belong to God's father. Sounding crazy? But, this is how a cabal of land grabbers tried to usurp temple lands right in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. This incident is creating quite a sensation in Lucknow.
There is a 100-year-old temple of Lord Rama and Krishna in the Kushmoura Halwapur near Lucknow. The land and the temple were registered in the name of Lord Ramakrishna. However, a person claiming to be the father of Lord Ramakrishna came to the registration officials and claimed that the owner of the land died and that he was the rightful owner as he is the deceased 'God's' father.. This happened in 1987. Gayaprasad died in 1991, after which the land was taken over by his brothers Ramnath and Hardwar. In 2016, this matter came to light and the real owner of the land, Sushil Kumar Tripathi, lodged a complaint with the police. He also approached Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi. Investigations showed that the cabal had forged the signature of the real trustee of the temple and tried to grab the land.
The police are now investigating the matter. Meanwhile, in another development, the village gramasabha has announced that the land on which the temple was constructed was banjar land. A probe is on.
