Google Photos Announces A Change In The Storage Policy, Caps 15GB As Free Storage

Google's new policy will keep an end to the unlimited free storage facility provided to it. With this, the users will get only a 15GB storage limit with the Google account after reaching the limit the users have to pay for the services.
The company confirmed the same on the Microblogging site Twitter and said after June 21, 2021, the users have to purchase a storage limit. The only relief for the users is that the data that will be uploaded before the deadline will not count on the 15GB limit.
The Highly popular Google Photos has dropped the free storage service after five years. Google Photos said that as many as 28 billion new photos and videos will be uploaded every week.
'A remarkable 28 billion new photos and videos are uploaded to Photos every week. To welcome even more of your memories and build Google Photos for the future, we are announcing a change to our storage policy,' the company's Tweet read.
Google Photos was launched in May 2015. Over the last five years, it gained a lot of popularity across the globe.
The Company has also made it clear that after June 1, 2021, the users will get notified of the limit they have in their Google Photo storage. While the data from the inactive accounts will also be cleared.
On the other hand, the users of Pixel phones, developed by Google will be getting a sigh of hope as the new storage limit will not apply for them and they upload data even after June 1st.
However, they will also get affected by the policy change as they cannot upload their high-quality photos and videos life before. They have to compress the file to upload it.
