PIL in HC against CM and Speaker
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 March 2016 2:21 PMA PIL(Public Interest Litigation) was filed in High Court against the Andhra Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao for contempt of court. The petition was filed by one lawyer Gopal Krishna Kalanidhi. The petitioner mentioned that Chief minister and speaker didn't paid heed to court request on Roja's suspension and he seeks the court to initiate criminal action on the duo.
The petitioner said that the duo insulted the judiciary by not respecting the court. The advocate opined that this is equal to contempt of court and criminal proceedings are to be initiated against the CM and Speaker. The petitioner said that if these actions are not stopped by court, they become repetitive in the society and feared could mock the Indian judiciary.It has to be seen what the court decides on this.
Meanwhile The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly discussed the report of the Privileges Committee on five YSRCP MLAs. The privileges committee gave another opportunity to RK Roja to appear before the committee and give an explanation.
