Government eases the process of Address change in Aadhar Card
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Nov 2019 6:55 AM GMTIn a new development, the government has altered the rules allowing the people to use their Aadhar number for Know-your-customer (KYC) even their current address and the address in the Aadhar card does not match.
A notification released by the finance ministry stated that people can use Aadhar number as identity proof and can provide their current address, other than the mentioned address in the Aadhar card for KYC.
"Where a client has provided his Aadhaar number for identification under clause (a) of sub-rule (4) and wants to provide a current address, different from the address as per the identity information available in the Central Identities Data Repository, he may give a self-declaration to that effect to the reporting entity," the official notification read.
"This demand has been there from various sectors and it Will help migrant workers who have the address of their native place in Aadhaar but want a bank account with their current address where they are living for work," said an official.
People can have residential address mentioned in their Aadhaar card and can provide their work address as their current address, added the official.
