Ban on airing Condom Ads on TV
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Oct 2015 7:32 AM GMTNDA Government is considering the proposal of imposing a ban on airing the Condom ads on Television during day time. This means, such Commercials featuring beauties in a sensuous & ravishing avatars will be confined to late-night hours.
In the wake of increase in complaints from the viewers about the adult content, The Information & Broadcasting Ministry has been mulling to keep Condom Ads off air during the day. However, The Ministry mayn't ban Condom ads but likely to place them in the Restricted content category.
Usually, The content aired on Television is classified into two groups - General (G) and Restricted (R). While there are no restriction on General content and they can be aired at any point of time, Restricted content should be aired only between 11 PM to 5 PM. As of now, Condom commercials could be aired at any time and any channel. This is going to change very soon!
