Andhra Pradesh: Government officials meet Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar!
X
As directed earlier by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, three officials of the Andhra Pradesh government met the state Election Commissioner over the local body elections commencement.

It has been widely reported that the government reciprocated what the Andhra Pradesh government has been telling the court about conducting the local body elections in February.

The officials told the SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar that the government is not ready to go for the polls as the vaccine is expected to reach the state from the centre this month itself.

Once the vaccine program gets started, the police personnel and the health care warriors will be involved in the drive which makes them unavailable for the local body elections.

Conducting the polls without the police personnel is not possible. The vaccine drive is likely to be started this month and the cops will be made a part of the vaccine drive, so they cannot render their services at the polling booths, the officials reportedly told the SEC.

It is also said that the government officials explained the elaborate arrangements being made by the Andhra Pradesh government for the mass vaccination drive for the Covid-19.

If we have to take anything from the media reports, the government officials explained all the above points to Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and told them that the local body elections cannot be held in February, as scheduled earlier.

However, there is no official information on confirmation on this. We will get more information once the government or the SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar issues an official statement.

Earlier in December, last year, the Andhra Pradesh government directed the government that three Principal Secretary level officials should State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.
