Triple Talaq Tables In Lok Sabha & Faces Opposition From Owaisi
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Dec 2017 10:34 AM GMTTriple Talaq bill was tabled in Lok Sabha today by union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. A lot of MP's made brief comments on the bill while a few have spoken in advance of the bill's introduction. AIMIM's MP Asaduddin Owaisi has made his stand clear once again and gave the notice to opposing the introduction of Muslim Women 2017 under rule 72 in Lok Sabha. He has also tweeted his notice and told that the bill violates fundamental rights and lacks legal coherence.
While the prime minister Narendra Modi has requested everyone to come on to a single stand on the bill, Asaduddin Owaisi along with others severely opposed the bill. Along with him, Biju Janata Dal has also opposed the bill telling that the bill consists a lot of loopholes. The minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has not given importance to these comments and stressed the importance of the bill telling that Muslim Women will definitely get benefited if the bill gets passed.
Home minister Rajnath Singh along with his team has proposed the Muslim women bill where it allows a Muslim man to legally divorce his wife by stating the word Talaq three times in oral, written or more recently electronic form. The all India Muslim personal law board has requested Narendra Modi on Sunday to propose the bill only after discussing with Muslim religion heads.
The Supreme court has already criticised the bill saying that it is unconstitutional and keeping it in mind, the government has proposed this new bill which is facing oppositions again.
