As a sudden and unexpected development in the Panchayat Polls in Andhra Pradesh, State Election Commissioner(SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar gave a green signal for unanimous polls and directed the respective district collectors of Chittor and Guntur to declare the unanimous elections.

A day before the first phase of Panchayat Polls, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar met the state Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan on Monday. The meeting lasted for nearly half an hour.

The meeting between the duo offered several shocks to the public of the state. One such shock is Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar reversing his decision on unanimous polls.

According to the media reports, Governor has warned the SEC over his controversial decisions in regard to the Polls, including unanimous polls, and ordering the GDP tpo confine Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy to his home till the completion of the polls

On the other hand, it is also said that SEC’s functionality like visiting the districts ahead of the polls instead of staying in the headquarters to oversee the election process irked Governor

As an aftermath of a warning from Governor, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar changed his stand on unanimous polls and directed the district collectors to gove declarations for the leaders who won the polls unanimously on Tuesday and Wednesday last week, reports claimed.
