Naidu Announced First 20 smart cities

Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday. Addressing media Naidu said that the 20 cities will be the first to get the funding from union government and another set of cities will be announced in next two years.
From Andhra Pradesh cities like Vizag and Kakinda were named in the list. Surprisingly Telangana didn't gets any share in the list. The Centre has picked more number of cities from the BJP-ruled States like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Developing 100 smart cities is one of the goals set by the prime minister Narendra Modi's government.

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Pune (Maharashtra), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Surat (Gujarat), Kochi (Kerala), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC, Delhi), Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), Belagavi (Karnataka), Udaipur (Rajasthan), Guwahati (Assam), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Ludhiana (Punjab), and Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh).Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Sholapur (Maharashtra), Davangere (Karnataka).
