By: Tupaki Desk | 23 Oct 2019 4:24 AM GMTA government doctor was suspended and action was initiated against him after he made negative comments on Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb. The doctor, Dr Kaushik Chakraborty, who works as an assistant professor in Tripura Government Medical College, criticised the Chief Minister on Twitter on the issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill of the Central Government. As a government employee, he is bound by oath not to criticise the government he serves. But, Dr Chakraborty supported anti-BJP leader on Twitter and tweeted against the Chief Minister. He said the bill will create a rift among the various communities of the state.
In another comment, Chakraborty slammed the Chief Minister for his comments on various issues. The tweet in Bangla said 'Dear Biplab da, there is no Nobel prize for loose talks. So, don't reduce such a coveted post to ridicule'. "This direct attack by a government employee is unacceptable", said an official of the health and family welfare department.
Kaushik Chakraborty defended his comments saying that he had not made these comments as a government employee, but in his capacity as the common citizen of the country. As of now, he stands suspended from duties.
