Gujarat Civic Body Polls: No sigh of relief to Narendra Modi's niece!

The much-awaited Corporate elections in Ahmedabad and other cities in dry state Gujarat are expected to commence this month. Following this, the saffron party BJP has announced the list of candidates for the civic polls.
The candidate's list surprised everyone to some extent. In the list announced for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s niece faced a severe shock.
Narendra Modi's niece Sonal Modi, his brother Prahlad Modi’s daughter expressed her desire to contest the elections on a BJP ticket. She hoped that she would get a BJP ticket.
The saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP has announced the list of 576 candidates for the civic body polls for Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Bhavnagar wards. But she was not named in the list.
Looking at her background, Sonal Modi runs a fair price shop in Ahmedabad. The homemaker who holds the position of president of the state Fair Price Shops Association said she would continue to work for the party even though the party didn't give her a ticket.
It has to be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is against nepotism in politics. With none of his family members entering politics made him stand alone compared to other politicians
