Gurmeet Baba Rape Case Verdict: 18 Dead!

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is the chief of Dera Sacha Sauda sect, was is convicted in the rape case. The quantum of punishment will be announced by the CBI Court in Panchkula on Monday. He might have to serve a jail term of minimum 7 years and maximum 10 years.
In 2002, CBI recorded the statement of Two Female Followers (Sadhvis) who alleged Ram Rahim has raped them in his room. One of victims disclosed that he even defended the sexual assault saying it will purify her.
Clashes erupted in Haryana after the judgement was pronounced Today. Supporters of Ram Rahim resorted to vandalism near the court and at Dera main headquarters. 18 people have died and over 100 others suffered injuries in the violence. Army has been deployed in Haryana and Punjab to the situation under control. Two Train Coaches and a Bus was burnt in New Delhi.
Ram Rahim who enjoys a Z-Category Security came to the court hearing in 200 cars convoy. After the judgement was pronounced, He was taken into judicial custody and taken away from the court.
Haryana High Court ordered for seize of Ram Rahim's Assets to compensate the destruction happened post his conviction.
