India's journey in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020 has been a bit of ups and downs. While Mirabai Chanu bagged a silver in the weightlifter, Indian shooters had a disappointing outing.

Amid this Indian Badminton player Gutta Jwala shared a post on her Twitter that has a mention about the Indian athletes.

The small note she shared on the microblogging site Twitter highlights how the Indian athletes have to fight with the system, politics and finances besides fighting their opponents.

Gutta Jwala's post adds that every medal the athletes win be it gold or Bronze, the medal is special.

"Indian athletes don't just have to fight their opponents to win at the Olympics. They’ve to fight the system, politics, finances, and sometimes their family too. Every medal whether gold or bronze makes it all that special," her post reads.

There is nothing wrong in the matter she mentioned in her post. Several players in the recent past mentioned how their respective families struggled to arrange money for their sporting purposes.

All the leading sportspersons in the country across the sports have started with a humble background and overcame their difficulties and proved themselves.

"Read slowly and if you didn't understand read again," Gutta Jwala captioned her post.

After she shared the post, netizens reacted positively and agreed with her in this regard. In the comments section, they shared their views on how societal norms create obstacles.

This is not the first time Gutta Jwala became vocal about such issues. Earlier, she became critical of the system in the country for failing to provide the required facilities for the Badminton sport.

Gutta Jwala even expressed her dissatisfaction over India fielding less number of players for the tournaments. She even drew a comparison between India and other countries like China that tops the tournament.

Gutta Jwala started her career in Badminton in the 1990s and went on to represent India in various events at the international stage.

Including women's doubles and mixed category, Gutta Jwala registered more than 300 wins in the category, highest for Indian badminton Players. She once held the sixth rank in the rankings of Badminton players in the world.
