GVL Clears Confusion In BJP Over Capital
X
There is a lot of confusion in Andhra Pradesh BjP about the three capitals issue . The leaders are confused and are taking stance on the basis of their personal and regional interests. This is harming the party to no end. Even the party workers are in a quandary.

Initially, BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana welcomed the proposal to have three capitals. But, soon, he changed his stance and began rooting for Amaravati. He realised that his interests lay in Guntur district and started opposing the shifting of capital city to Vizag. Similarly, another leader, Sujana Chowdary, who was a TDP leader till recently, rooted for Amaravati. It is being alleged that he has his interests in Amaravati. He is said to have bought huge chunks of lands in the region. So, he is said to be opposing it.

This gave rise to lot of confusion among the BJP workers in both North Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. Clearing the air, BJP spokesperson and MP GVL Narasimha Rao, who visited Vijayawada on Monday, clarified that the Central government neither has a role nor say in the choice of the capital city in the state. He said it is entirely for CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to decide on the place of the capital. He also said that his statement was final as he was the national spokesperson. This has effectively silenced both Kanna and Sujana.
