Happiness On Vizag Steel Plant Is Short-Lived!
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 April 2023 12:16 PM GMTThe Vizag Steel Plant privatization row took a big turn with the Union Steel Minister saying that the privation would be done and the main focus is to strengthen the Vizag Steel Plant now. Though the employees were happy with this, a credit game was started. The ruling party in Telangana BRS claimed the credit for this and the AP Ministers countered this.
Proving that the happiness of Vizag Steel Plant is a short-lived one, Minister of State for Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste changed his version of this. It is said that the Minister said the steel plant was already listed for privatization and they are doing this to bring the plant out of the losses.
The Minister quickly changed his version and said that there is nothing in his hand and he cannot do anything. Talking about the version he said, Faggan Singh Kulaste said that his comments were wrongly interpreted. His comments gave a hammer blow to the employees' unions. Having faced a big blow they said that they will not take a back step in this.
No one expected that the Centre would say that the privatisation row would be stopped and no further steps will be taken. While people could not come out of shock, the concerned Minister took everyone by another surprise and changed his version.
He reportedly met a Minister and the employees' unions in Vizag and during the same, he gave the clarity and made it clear that the steel plant was listed for privatisation and to help the firm come out of the losses the decision was taken. The employees did not expect that the Minister will them a piece of shocking news.
The Vizag Steel Plant row took a political turn after the Telangana government decided to take part in the bidding. Through the Singareni company, the government wanted to participate in bidding. A delegation of Singareni employees went to the Vizag Steel Plant to understand various aspects. A few political experts say that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS) government wants to use this fight as a trump card to enter Andhra Pradesh.
