Happy days are here again for Konda couple

For the Konda Surekha-Konda Murali family, Revanth Reddy's appointment as the Telangana PCC is like a boon. The couple, who ruled Warangal politics for decades, have been sidelined ever since they returned to the Congress Party after a stint in the TRS. They were not given any post of importance.
Sulking Surekha and Murali were keeping a low profile all these days. When Revanth Reddy began his Padayatra last year, they not only wholeheartedly backed him, but even provided wherewithal to him. They were among the top leaders who supported his claim to the TPCC top post. However, there was a tinge of disappointment when their names were not included in the PCC team. But on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy himself went to their Jubilee Hills residence to thank them for their support. So moved was Surekha that she actually offered him Mangala Harathi. Revanth sought their blessings and support.
Congress sources say that Revanth Reddy will give them some key posts in his team. Surekha and Murali could play a more active role in the Telangana politics under Revanth Reddy. It is also likely that they would emerge as important players in Warangal.
