Harmanpreet Kaurâs Counter To Ex-Skipper On Run-Out Comments!
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Feb 2023 1:23 AM ISTThe semis horror again hit the Indian fans as India's Women's team was knocked out of the tournament in the eliminator match played yesterday. When everything was going well, the skipper of the Women's Indian team Harmanpreet Kaur was run out and India could not bounce back from then.
Harmanpreet Kaur's runout was in the news that fans compared it with Mahendra Singh Dhoni's run-out in the 2019 Semifinals with blackcaps New Zealand. Fans are still debating what would have happened if Harmanpreet Kaur would have not been run out.
Running salt into the wounds, former England Skipper Nasser Hussain reacted to the run-out and said that the way she lost her wicket is like an error made by a schoolgirl. With the ex-skipper of the national team making such a comment, it raised many eyeballs.
Harmanpreet Kaur was asked for a comment on this. Reacting to this, the skipper asked if he really said this and said that what happened is unlucky and no one can make a school-girl-like error while playing international cricket. Harmanpreet also said that it is his way of thinking and the players are mature enough.
Recalling the match, the skipper said that they failed to bowl tightly in patches and the way they batted was not on par which could take the team to the finals. She also maintained that a team has to perform well in all the departments to win such crucial matches.
"He said that? Yes. Okay. I don't know. That is a way of thinking. I don't know. But sometimes it happens. I have seen many times in cricket when batters are taking a single like that and sometimes the bat is stuck there. But obviously, I will take it as we were unlucky today. Maybe something still, we have to improve to go to the finals because we definitely didn't field badly," the skipper said.
