Shortly after his arrest, Yuvraj Singh was released on bail. The arrest was made in Haryana.
Senior Police Officer in Haryana Police Nitika Gahlaut said the arrest was made as per the orders that got from the court. After he got interim bail from the court, Yuvraj Singh was released on bail, the IPS officer was quoted as saying by ANI.
The court issued orders for the arrest of Yuvraj Singh in connection with a petition that was filed by one Rajat Kalsan, a Dalit activist who hails from Haryana. Finding fault with Yuvraj Singh's comments against Chahal, he moved the court. Though the petition was filed in February 2021, the orders came on Sunday.
Th Haryana-based Dalit activist said the final report on the case by the cops will reach the special SC/ST court in Hisar in a few days. Yuvraj Singh should appear for the hearings at the court there. As his comments are in a way insulting the whole community, we will give out bets to prove that Yuvraj Singh is guilty, he said.
The activist added that they will knock on the doors of the Supreme Court to challenge the bail that was granted to Yuvraj Singh under the SC/ST Act. You might be able to see him get arrested, Kalsan reportedly said while speaking to a national media outlet.
