Haryana Police FIR against former cricketer Yuvraj Singh for disrespectful comments against a commun

Former Indian player Yuvraj Singh landed in an unwanted controversy after Haryana Police has registered an FIR (First Information Report) against him going by a police complaint.
Going into detail, Yuvraj Singh has held an Instagram live session with Indian star batsman Rohit Sharma back in June 2020. During the Instagram live session, Yuvraj reportedly made disrespectful statements against the Dalit community.
Following the controversy, Rajan Kalsan, a Dalit activist based in Haryana's Hisar district has lodged a complaint with the Hansi City Police in June. Eight months after the complaint, the FIR was filed.
Yuvraj made these sensational comments against Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Talking about Chahal's TikTok videos, Yuvi said in Hindi, "Yeh b***gi log ko kaam nahi hai yeh Yuzi aur isko(Kuldeep).
His comments resulted in Yuvraj facing the wrath of the netizens, who slammed the World Cup-winner for targeting a particular caste. The comments coming from a national celebrity caused an uproar.
After the outrage, Yuvraj Singh took to the microblogging site Twitter to issue an apology. In the tweet, he said that he won't believe the idea of any kind of disparity on the grounds of caste, colour, creed or gender
"This is to clarify I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, colour, creed or gender. I have given and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception," his tweet in June last year reads.
"I understand that while I was having a conversation with my friends, I was misunderstood, which was unwarranted. However, as a responsible Indian I want to say that if I have unintentionally hurt anybody's sentiments or feelings, I would like to express regret for the same," he added.
Talking about the FIR, the advocate said, the case has been registered under Sections 153, 153A, 295, 505 of IPC, besides sections 3 (1) (r) and 3 (1) (s) of the SC/ST Act.
