Has firebrand Congress leader Revanth Reddy scored a direct hit by getting arrested? Has the ruling TRS erred in making Revanth Reddy a hero by getting him arrested? Yes, say those in the know.
When he took up the issue of illegal constructions, Revanth knew that the TRS government would react by putting him in jail. So, he decided to show his confidence and self-assurance by going to Charlapally prison serenely. By doing this, he had won the war for optics. A smiling, confident Revanth being taken to Charlapally displayed the air of someone fighting for a cause. This is very unlike the chest-beating and thigh-slapping that he did when he was arrested in the Cash-for-Vote case. At the same time, he has also successfully proved that KTR owns a swank farmhouse in Narsingi. He has also shown that the farmhouse exists in a place that comes under GO 111, where no constructions are allowed. Interestingly, when he alleged that the farmhouse belongs to KTR, neither the government, nor the TRS not even KTR could refute it. Nor did they try to refute it. Thus Revanth showed KTR in poor light and had managed to put the needle of suspicion on the TRS biggie.
Also Revanth got himself arrested in Narsingi police station. All these have helped in putting KTR on the dock. Remember all this is happening just ahead of the key budget session. So, Round 1 goes to Revanth. Let's see how KTR extricates himself out of all this mess.
