Has The Bjp Lost The Plot In Khammam?
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 April 2021 5:49 AM GMTHas the BJP handed over on a platter Khammam Municipal Corporation to the ruling TRS? It appears so. The BJP began with a bang in Khammam, but is all set to end with a whimper. The initial bravado and bragging has now given way to despondency and desperation.
In fact, the BJP does not have a none-too-inspiring record in Khammam. It has never won a single corporator or councilor seat in Khammam. In the last municipal elections, it contested 11 seats and could secure deposit in just one division. But, soon after Dubbak and GHMC victories, the BJP managed to catch the imagination of the people of Khammam and appeared as an alternative to the TRS. There was a mad rush to join the BJP and there were stiff competition for party tickets. But, post MLC election defeat, the party has suddenly lost its sheen. It is now struggling to put up a decent show.
Meanwhile, party president Bandi Sanjay has undertaken a padayatra in Khammam municipal corporation on Tuesday. Though he is trying hard to infuse enthusiasm in the party cadre, there is little motivation among them. To add to BJP's woes, Covid scare has affected them significantly.. As a result, the campaign is colourless.
