Has the Gandhi-Nehru family completely abandoned its former citadel of Raebareli? Has it left the constituency to its fate? If the current trend is to be taken as an indication, the Congress may not win even a single assembly seat under the Raebareli Lok Sabha constituency, which was once represented by Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
The current mood in this constituency says that the Congress has successfully alienated the leaders and the voters. As a result, the party may not be in a position to win even a single assembly seat under the Lok Sabha seat. The Congress glory in Raebareli appears to be a thing of the past.
The people say that the Congress did not even bother about providing basic amenities in the constituency during the 2014-2019 period. In fact, despite this neglect, the people voted for Sonia Gandhi in 2019.
