South African opener Hashim Amla is a tough competitor for India's run machine Virat Kohli. He now broke another record of the Indian Skipper.
In the first ODI against Bangladesh, Amla scored a century to help his team beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets. By doing so, He broke Kohli's record of fastest to reach 26 centuries. While Amla achieved this milestone in 154 innings, Kohli took 166 innings to reach here.
Earlier, Amla broke Virat Kohli record of fastest to reach 7,000-run mark in ODIs. While the South African managed this feat in 150 innings, Indian skipper took 169 innings.
Amla also holds the record of fastest to reach 2000 (40 innings), 3000 (57 innings), 4000 (81 innings), 5000 (101 innings) and 6000 (123 innings) runs.
Kohli still manages to dominate in number of centuries. He scores 30 tons so far to jointly share the 2nd Position with Ricky Ponting. Sachin occupies the top spot with 49 centuries.
