In a much shocker to the YSRCP party, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued a stay for six months on the government's move to suspend the bar licenses in AP. Earlier, Jagan stated that to impose a complete liquor ban in the state licenses of bar shops will be suspended.

With the government's decision to cut short the bars to 40 percent in the state, the excise department has issued a notification last month to all the bars canceling the licenses.

The bar owners moved the High Court requesting to revoke their licenses for six months. The state government faced questions from the court on what basis did they cancel the licenses before expiring.

Bar owners said the court that the government has canceled the licenses, while some of the bar licenses will expire in mid-2020.

The High Court asked the government to file an affidavit before December 7 and directed the bar owners to file counter by December 16. The state government also received directions from the Advocate General to postpone the process of granting new licenses till January 7.
