Will the exit of senior politicians DK Aruna and Vijayasanthi from the Congress party turn into an unexpected bonanza for Konda Surekha? Both Aruna and Vijayasanthi, known to be firebrand leaders and orators, have left for the BJP. Both are given key positions in the BJP. This has left the Congress without any woman leader of substance.
So, the high command is said to be seriously mulling over giving key position to another firebrand leader and orator Konda Surekha. If sources are to be believed, she could be made the working president of the party. Surekha is from the BC community and has wide experience as an MLA and a minister.
Another name doing rounds is that of former Naxal and two-time MLA Seetakka. She could be made the president of the Telangana women's Congress chief. Hugely popular, Seetakka is known to be quite active and hard-working. She is already a member of the AICC.
