High Court gives green signal for local body elections

In a much relief to the ruling government, the High Court gave a green signal to hold local body elections in the state. The plea which was filed against the 59.85 reservation policy was quashed by the court.
After admitting the Election Commission's affidavit, the court ordered that the election process of the local bodies must be completed by March 3.
The election notifications for ZPTC and MPTC polls will be issued by Jan 17 and the elections will get commenced on Feb 8. Election results will be out on Feb 10. The poll for Mandal Parishad president and Zilla Parishad chairman might get elected before Feb 15.
At the same time, the election notification for the Panchayat polls might be issued on Feb 8th and the entire election process would be completed by March 3.
