High Court judge dives into lake to save young girl
By: Tupaki Desk | 6 April 2015 6:54 PM GMTPutting his own life to risk, a high court judge saved life of a young girl. The judge who was on his morning walk dived into Sukhna Lake to save a teenage girl from drowning after she allegedly attempted suicide.
Going into details 60 years old Judge Jeyapaul was on his daily morning walk on the banks of Sukhna in Chandigarh on March 30. Suddenly he saw a girl drowning in the water. Without thinking for a moment, he plunged head long into the waters to save the girl. Jeyapaul's security officer, Yashpal also jumped into the Lake and the duo managed to save the girl.
Both of them swam towards the girl who had by now gone under the surface. The security guy is learnt to have gone under water and pulled the girl to the surface. The girl was already unconscious, when they found her. They rushed her to a hospital and helped save the girl.
Later the judge came to know that she attempted suicide as she was dejected as her father refused to support her studies. Upon learning this, the Judge gave the family some money towards her studies.
